The phrase about commitment to quality is an often-overused phrase in every aspect of business life. What are qualities and more specifically what is quality insurance coverages, is in the eyes of the beholder. Insurance carriers are quick to expound upon their qualities, benefits, and quality components. Insurance brokers are also fast at marketing their quality services, and customer relationship management teams, etc.

While you do have several opinions from carriers and broker telling you the small business owner what is quality it would be in your best interest to lay out your own personal map as to what is quality in your mind and for your company.

Customer service and client relationship management is usually where you see insurance brokers and insurance companies purporting to have quality services for you the insured. Personally, I am always amazed when I correspond with insurance companies and receive automatic responder messages that they will answer my e-mail within 2 to 3 business days. In addition, many online insurance brokers who have online applications for quoting insurance products send out auto-responder messages that say we will be in touch within 24 hours.

In this day and age of Google which can respond with answers in less than a second after searching millions of websites, makes 2 to 3 day turnarounds and/or even 24 hour turnaround’s ancient at best. It is in your best interest to define what quality is in your mind as clearly the insurance carriers and most insurance brokers have a much more antiquated view of what is called quality service.
